HANDSCAPES — edition

Fev 2025

✋Throughout history, hands have been more than instruments of making and communication—they have also carried a rich vocabulary of cultural symbols, rituals, and meanings.

🤚Handscapes is a cultural and visual archive centered around the human hand, exploring the many ways it has been interpreted across different contexts. From palmistry and the symbolism of rings to the Hand of the Philosophers in alchemy, as well as representations of hands in medicine and art, the book brings together a collection of curious histories and visual references in an accessible and playful form.

🤲The book itself takes the shape of a hand, turning each act of reading into the gesture of opening a palm. Its cover is handcrafted from wood-plastic clay, giving the object a warm, skin-like tactility and extending the subject of the book beyond the visual into the physical experience of touch.
